With her experiences at the Academy behind her, Phoenyx and her fellow Titans leave the safety of the island and embark on the Titan Elite tour.

Battles won't be the only fight they have ahead of them.

Expectations are high and nothing is as it seems.

Life off the island is a very different world, where money buys freedom and power is always for sale.
Stirring, she sits up, watching the note in my hand like it’s a loaded gun.

“Do you have any idea how it felt for me to find something like that, Marcus? To know I had sunk that low and you stepped in and just wiped it all away. I hate you for keep this a secret from me.”

“You needed to stop all of this wallowing in self-pity shit. I’ve got a tour to run, people’s lives are at stake, you needed to get your head in the game.” I have tried being patient and gentle with her, it obviously didn’t work.

Her glare sharpens and she clenches her fists. I’m glad she’s pissed off. I need to see the fire in her to remind myself why I have risked everything bringing her into all of this. Sometimes, I swear she’s more trouble than she’s worth but I didn’t save her all those years ago to let her go now. She’s my family, blood or not.

“Wallowing in self-pity? Oh, I’m sorry, I’m not completely dead inside like you are. This shit affects me. You… you put all of these things in my head.”

Losing it, I shout, “You asked for it! I told you that you didn’t want this shit in your head, but you kept demanding to know everything.” Taking a breath, trying to get my anger in check. “Did you want me to lie to you? Let you drag that knife across your wrist? Watch as Mason and Ianna die inside at the loss of your life? You forced my hand. I couldn’t spend every day worrying you would try to kill yourself the moment my back was turned.”
Why can’t she understand that I did this for her?

She scoffs, “You can’t keep changing me when I do something you don’t like.”

“I’m not changing you! I’m fixing you.” Sitting down beside her. “I can’t change the fact that we had a nightmare childhood, but we have grown stronger because of it. You are brave and talented. You are Phoenyx mother fucking Warren, kick ass demigod with more than one power under her belt. You are incredible. Why can’t you see that?”

Review: Missing Parts

TITLE: Missing Parts
AUTHOR: Lucinda Berry
RELEASE DATE: October 25th, 2016
PUBLISHER: Rise Press
FORMAT: paperback & ebook

Growing up abandoned by her father and raised by a single mother, Celeste was determined to create the perfect family but even perfect families have secrets. Celeste’s days are filled with a rewarding career, a devoted husband, and her four-year-old daughter. Only Celeste knows the precarious house of cards her family is built upon until the day her daughter falls critically ill. Celeste’s world quickly spirals out of control as her secret threatens to destroy her marriage, family, reputation, and sanity. She’ll go to any lengths to protect her family—take any risk, break any law—anything except tell the truth.
Dr. Lucinda Berry's background is as unique as her stories. She has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology, specializing in trauma and children. She is the Assistant Director of Evidence-based Practice at UCLA's National Center for Child Traumatic Stress. She uses her clinical experience to create compelling tales that blur the lines between fiction and nonfiction.

'Missing Parts' is an intriguing, catching and quite excellent story about how one decision can alter your whole life. This is one of those books you cannot put down and drags you into its pages only to release you once you finish.

Celeste has built a life with the perfect family she couldn't have as a child. However, all her world crumbles when her daughter falls ill with a terrible disease. Little by little, we discover that there are secrets that could change everything.

I have to say that I love the writing style, the author wrote a solid book with a strong background and thought of every detail. Celeste is a great character, I liked her despite her choices (whether you agree with her or not) because she is as human as any of us.

Each chapter brings a new surprise and it's hard to stop reading. I really liked how dynamic the story is despite the dark tone of the story. There were minor things that were predictable but it still is a really good story.

I highly recommend this book, if you like thrillers, mysteries and a bit of family drama, you should read this one.

Review: Single by Christmas @RosaT_Author

TITLE: Single by Christmas
AUTHOR: Rosa Temple

You’ve heard the saying, ‘opposites attract’ haven’t you? Well meet 27 year old Alex Marshall, a party girl with a penchant for free flowing Prosecco, and her devilishly handsome scientist boyfriend, Charlie, who loves jazz and dinner for two.Alex and Charlie are together for 11 blissful months until Alex goes out of town and does something she will later regret. Was she drunk? You bet. Does she want Charlie to know? Well what do you think? With the couple about to spend their first Christmas together will Charlie be the forgiving kind or will Alex be Single by Christmas?
This is a feel good, Christmas novel with very few mince pies, not much snow and absolutely no mistletoe – just a couple of best friends, a sociopathic nemesis and a lot of drinking.

Rosa Temple began writing romantic comedies and chick lit because of her passion for what she calls the 'early chick lit films', like: Sabrina, Barefoot In the Park and Breakfast at Tiffany's. She honed her skills as a ghost writer, gaining experience writing romantic novellas, both sweet and on the slightly steamy side. In her notebooks, she constantly jotted down story ideas of her own and she eventually completed her first novella Sleeping With Your Best Friend and now, the full length novel, Natalie's Getting Married.
Rosa Temple is a Londoner and is married with two sons. She is a reluctant keep fit fanatic and doer of housework and insists that writing keeps her away from such strenuous tasks. She spends her days creating characters and story lines while drinking herbal tea and eating chocolate biscuits.

'Single by Christmas' starts with Alex waiting for her boyfriend on Christmas Eve and we start wondering why is she freezing and alone. So, we jump back a month in the past to discover that a serious of events left her waiting on a cold night.

Alex is an amazing character, I never felt so close and related to a character as I did with her. She likes to drink and enjoy parties, of course sometimes she loses control and the results are not good at all. She is so immersed in her own world that she doesn't realize the things that go around her, she not bad she is just a bit clueless and has a hard time acting as an adult. Her boyfriend is so perfect and deserves an award for putting up with her. Charlie is smart, sexy, handsome and sweet. He is just what she needs because he is patient and caring.

The book is fast to read and the writing style is really good. The dialogues are funny and the characters are all adorable. Each event unchains a series of misunderstandings, fights, secrets and it's all a big mess at the end. However, as any other chick-lit the book finds its route to a better path.

I really enjoyed the book, if you like chick-lit and romance you should definitely read this one.

Review: Spitting on Hans' Tosti

TITLE: Spitting on Hans' Tosti: How It Feels to Be Groped and Preyed Upon by Your Boss
AUTHOR: Karin Bosman
RELEASE DATE: July 5th, 2015
PUBLISHER: CB- Logistics
FORMAT: paperback & ebook
SOURCE: complimentary copy

Sexual harassment at work, the real life story about unwelcome and unlawful behaviour in the workplace. The intimidations of sexual harassment unwittingly pull you into a world of sadness and loneliness. This story gradually reveals how an apparently stray kiss leads to degrading harassment.

'Spitting on Han's Tosti' is a tale of sexual harassment, an honest tale of how your workplace can become an awful place and how going daily to work can feel like hell.

The author took the courage to tell us her real experience and she does it with grace and without looking for pity. She is honest, brave and open about her journey to escape an abusive boss. She uses nicknames to identify each person involved and I think it was a great decision because that way it's easy to imagine the situation in any scenario, I mean that this kind of things happen every day and it's sad.

The book has a really good style and it feels like hearing a friend telling you about his-her life. For moments it was hard to imagine going through the situations the author had to face. But I believe she come out of it stronger and despite all, happier because she could expose his boss.

This one is a really good non-fiction book and a good choice if you want to read about this topic.
